The Casio Edifice EQS-940NL-1A brings together sporty chronograph functionality, solar-powered convenience and an automotive-inspired design.
Part of the EDIFICE Nighttime Drive Series, the watch takes visual inspiration from driving through city streets at night. Its standout feature is the graduated blue-and-silver bezel, designed to evoke the contrast between the night sky and the glow of city lights. The blue tones continue through details on the dial, creating a cohesive motorsport-inspired aesthetic.
The watch has a substantial 45.5mm stainless-steel case measuring 49.5mm from lug to lug and 12.5mm thick. Its black exterior and genuine black leather band give the watch a sleek, masculine appearance, while the gradient bezel provides the colour contrast that makes the EQS-940NL stand out.
One of the biggest advantages of this Edifice is its solar-powered movement. Rather than relying on conventional battery replacement, the watch converts light into energy and stores that energy internally. Casio states that a full charge can provide approximately five months of normal operation.
The chronograph provides 1-second stopwatch measurement, with a maximum measuring capacity of 29 minutes and 59 seconds. The watch also includes a date display and three subdials for 24-hour, stopwatch-minute and stopwatch-second functions.
With 100m water resistance, the EQS-940NL-1A is considerably more water resistant than many conventional dress chronographs, giving it practical versatility for everyday use.
